1. What stays on your device
- Documents you open, import, scan or create, and every copy made by CloudFolio tools.
- Annotations, highlights, notes, bookmarks, reading position and reading activity.
- Text recognised by OCR, which runs on your device.
These are stored in your browser’s or app’s private storage. CloudFolio servers do not receive them. Uninstalling the app or clearing site data deletes them; export first if you need a backup.
2. What we collect when you create an account
- Name, email address, a securely hashed password, and optional two-step verification settings.
- Plan, payment references and UPI transaction IDs needed to confirm and account for payments. We never see or store your UPI PIN, card or bank login.
- Support requests you send us, and optional diagnostic details (device type and browser version) if you tick that box.
- Security records such as sign-in times and IP addresses, used to protect your account.
3. AI features (optional)
If you use the AI assistant, the text of the pages or selection you choose is sent through our server to our AI provider to generate that answer. It is sent only after you agree and press Run. We do not store document text; we record only that an AI action happened, for your monthly allowance. Our provider does not use API data to train its models.
4. Anonymous usage statistics (opt-in)
If you turn it on in Settings, the app sends counts such as “document opened” or “scan saved”, a random device identifier and the platform. These events never include file names, paths or document content.
5. Your choices and rights
- Download everything our servers hold about you from Settings → Privacy.
- Delete your account at any time; personal data is erased immediately, keeping only anonymous records required for accounting.
- Withdraw AI consent or turn off statistics whenever you like.
6. Security
Connections are encrypted. Passwords are hashed with Argon2id. Staff access requires two-step verification and is recorded in an audit log. Payment-provider and AI credentials are kept only on our servers.
7. Contact
Questions or requests: use Settings → Help & support, or email support@cloudfolio.app.
